GIANNI ODDI → Gianni Oddi ha compiuto gli studi musicali presso il Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini di Genova, diplomandosi in Pianoforte sotto la guida del Maestro Alfredo They e in Sassofono al Conservatorio Alfredo Casella dell’Aquila con il Maestro Alberto Fusco. Ha partecipato alla Master-Class di Sassofono tenuta dal Maestro Claude Delangle, Società dei Concerti Bonaventura Barattelli l’Aquila, 1994.Vincitore di Concorso nazionale per il ruolo di 2° Sax Alto/Clarinetto e Flauto nel 1977 e vincitore di Concorso nazionale per il ruolo di 1° Sax Alto/Clarinetto e Flauto nel 1983, entra nell’Orchestra di Musica Leggera della RAI di ROMA dove ha modo di fare importanti esperienze al fianco del Maestro Baldo Maestri. Strumentista versatile ha collaborato con artisti e direttori d’orchestra, tra i quali Gianni Ferrio, Bruno Canfora, Nicola Piovani, Franco Piersanti, Bruno Tommaso,  Luis Bacalov, John Lewis, Dizzy Gillespie, Gil Evans, George Russell, Mike Westbrook, Bill Holman, Maria Schneider, Liza Minnelli, Jerry Lewis, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Bob Brookmayer, Yusef Lateef, George Lewis, Uri Caine, Mike Stern, Wayne Marshall, Paolo Fresu, Fabrizio Bosso, Rosario Giuliani, Javier Girotto, Peppe Servillo, Dave Douglas. Negli anni 70’, collabora come arrangiatore e sax solista per la RCA Italiana registrando sei LP di International Hits ODDI SAX N°1,2,3,4,5,6, e l’album di colonne sonore Grandi temi da Film, collabora come arrangiatore con gli Artisti di musica leggera dell’epoca: Lucio Dalla, Ron, Renato Zero, Riccardo Fogli, Nada, Jmmy Fontana, Mal, Mia Martini, Nicola Di Bari, Patty Pravo, Claudio Baglioni, Francesco De Gregori, Piero Ciampi, Franco Califano. Ha diretto l’Orchestra di Musica Leggera della Rai per la trasmissione Un disco per l’estate e La Gondola d’oro. È Autore delle Musiche dell’LP STYLE, delle Musiche del film Mondo di Notte Oggi con la Regia di Gianni Proia e delle Musiche per il Documentario Le Montagne della Luce. Collabora con Francesco Nuti in qualità di sax solista per la realizzazione della Colonna sonora dei films Io, Chiara e lo Scuro e Casablanca Casablanca. Ha fatto parte dei Saxes Machine, storico ensemble di saxofoni ideato e diretto da Bruno Biriaco con Baldo Maestri, Sal Genovese, Gianni Basso, Franco D’Andrea e Giovanni Tommaso. Suona per molti anni con Roma Jazz Ensemble di Pietro Iodice e Mario Corvini, successivamente con la P.M.J.O. diretta da Maurizio Giammarco.

Ha partecipato a numerosi Jazz Festivals in Italia ed all’estero tra i quali ricordiamo Umbria Jazz, Atina Jazz, San Marino, Jazz&Image Villa Celimontana, Latina Jazz, Orvieto Jazz Winter,Termoli Jazz, Jazz Jamboree Varsavia, Scandinavia Tour 1980, Ascona Jazz Festival Svizzera, Radenci Jazz Festival Yugoslavia, 7° Avrupa Jazz Festivali Ankara, Manly Jazz Festival Sydney, Ottawa Jazz Festival, Tabarka Jazz Festival Tunisia, Euro Jazz Festival Tomar Portogallo, North See Jazz Festival Olanda, Nantes Jazz Festival Francia, Buenos Ayres Italian Jazz Festival Argentina, Ravello Festival, Roccella Jazz Festival, TJF Torino Jazz Festival,Talos Jazz Festival, Hessischen Rundfunk Radio Francoforte Berliner Philharmonie Berlino. Nell’ambito classico ha suonato per Nuova Consonanza, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Musica d’Oggi, Orchestra dell’Amit, Roma Sinfonietta, Orchestra Sinfonica Regionale del Lazio, Orchestra Sinfonica Regionale del Molise, Orchestra Sinfonica della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Roma, Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai di Roma.Sotto la Direzione del Maestro Ennio Morricone ha suonato come solista al Teatro Piccolo di Milano, all’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, I.U.C. Nel 1991 fonda Ialsax Quartet, quartetto di sassofoni con il quale registra per la Pentaphon il CD Contrasti ed il CD Mosaic per la Off Limits, quest’ultimo progetto prevede la partecipazione in veste di Special Guest di Pietro Iodice. Con Ialsax Quartet, compie   numerose tournée in Olanda, Tunisia, Turchia, Albania, Libano, Egitto, Siria, Tour Africa ’99 in Mozambico, Zimbabwe, Angola, Etiopia, Kenya, Canada, Usa, Australia, Colombia 2003 e 2010, Portogallo, Guatemala 2009, Argentina 2015, Guatemala 2019.È fondatore e Direttore di Ials Jazz Big Band, Orchestra composta da 5 sax, 4 trombe, 4 tromboni e sezione ritmica per la quale ha curato gli arrangiamenti e la direzione musicale di diversi concerti e musical tra i quali  Tip Tap Show 7°, 8°, 9°, 10° e 14° Edizione Teatro Sistina e Teatro Olimpico, La Dolce Diva Burlesque Show al Teatro Olimpico, Mario Pagano Concerto tra Musica e Parole al Teatro Manzoni di Roma,  da Jelly Roll Morton a … viaggio nella Storia del Jazz a cura della I.U.C. Dal 2001 al 2005 ha diretto la St. Louis Jazz Big Band partecipando anche ad Alatri Jazz Festival con Special Guest Rosario Giuliani e con Javier Girotto e Peppe Servillo al Teatro Eliseo nel festival Special Guest 2016 e Muntagn in Jazz a cura del Saint Louis College of Music. È stato membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione dell’Enap-PSMSAD dal 2004 al 2010 e contemporaneamente Direttore Artistico del Festival del Sassofono di Roma patrocinato dall’Enap-PSMSAD, Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia dal Comune di Roma e dalla Fondazione Musica per Roma, nelle edizioni: 2006/2007/2008 presso la Sala Accademica del Conservatorio Santa Cecilia di Roma, 2011/2013 Auditorium Parco della Musica Roma. È stato Membro di Giuria del Concorso internazionale Premio Claudio Abbado 2015. Nell’ambito didattico, dal 1974 al 1992 ha insegnato Pianoforte Complementare in qualità di Docente di ruolo al Conservatorio Licino Refice di Frosinone e ha collaborato sempre in qualità di Docente, al Biennio di Sassofono presso il Conservatorio di Musica di Santa Cecilia di Roma 2006 e 2007, e ha tenuto Seminari e Master-Class sul Sassofono in Italia al Conservatorio Licino Refice di Frosinone 2013 e 2014, Comune di Curti (CE), Associazione Blues Island Comune di Terni, Comune di Alvito (FR) e per gli Istituti Italiani di Cultura di Amsterdam, Tunisi e Città del Guatemala, Bogotà, Cali, Medellin (Colombia), Istanbul e Izmir (Turchia). Da molti anni tiene un corso permanente di addestramento professionale e perfezionamento per sassofonisti, presso il Centro Nazionale IALS di Roma. Attualmente svolge attività concertistica in Italia ed all’estero.
