Si inaugura a Roma presentata da Vittorio Sgarbi, Francesco Ruggiero, Alberto Dambruoso e Roberto Litta, nei Saloni di Palazzo Santacroce in Piazza Benedetto Cairoli, la prima grande Mostra retrospettiva del Maestro Andrey Protasov, dal titolo L’Anima russa, il cuore italiano, curata da Maria Protasov. L’Artista russo Andrey Protasov affermava … il mio lavoro è più un processo che un risultato. È infinito. Qualsiasi lavoro svolto, il Maestro stesso lo può continuare, migliorare o viceversa, ma è improbabile che sia completamente soddisfatto di sé stesso. … In Mostra alcuni cicli pittorici, spiega Francesco Ruggiero che ne ha curato anche l’allestimento, dalle Betulle, con una serie di Opere dedicate alla Russia, in cui vengono rivelati temi eterni dell’essere, del movimento e del tempo, l’amore per la bellezza della natura e le sue creature elementari. L’Artista attraversa il paesaggio accademico classico e il simbolismo con ambienti di onirico romanticismo e lussureggianti vedute multidimensionali attraverso una pittura ornata e colta di rimandi ermeneutici nella percezione del realismo magico. Sono l’immagine musicale della Armonie delle Sfere, alberi viventi in un pentagramma di note musicali, che fecondano la Terra di uno svolgimento solare, quella … luce intellettual pien d’amore … del Paradiso di Dante che eleva verso l’alto ogni eterno ritmo, pura gravità dello Spirito, liberando il colore in pienezza di sostanza e forma. Questo impianto artistico della serie Betulle espande in sé le fasi storiche della Russia e l’aspetto mistico e spirituale, metafora di purificazione e rinnovamento, di Rinascita. Ambienti metafisici quelli di Andrey Protasov, labirinti come boschi di betulle da attraversare, per superare, come Faust, l’incanto delle sirene, fortificati all’albero maestro della virtù, ma ascoltandone il canto. Lo studio approfondito e attento della Storia dell’Arte e dell’Architettura di Roma ha accompagnato il Maestro Protasov alla realizzazione di due diverse serie di Opere, che vedremo nella Mostra, sul medesimo soggetto, La Grande Roma, dove lo spettatore può rivisitare luoghi memorabili della Città Eterna, e in cui l’Artista contamina il passato con il presente in un ritmo impulsivo e un’armonia colorata. È comprensibile lo Stupor Mundi di Protasov, catapultato all’interno di un nuovo geroglifico che racchiude la chiave per la decifrazione d’innumerevoli enigmi passati, presenti e futuri. Una chiave multidimensionale per scale di scrigni di saggezza, che supera la gravità della luce e si fa dimensione altra. Protasov ha trovato, con equanimità, questa chiave. Ha contaminato il visibile e l’invisibile della sua ricerca vibrante e immanente dando forma e sostanza pittorica all’impalpabile esistenza, immergendosi nella propria multidimensionalità interiore e adottando un proprio sistema compositivo, tra saggezza edificatrice plastica ed incanti naturali, restituendo rivelazioni inedite e nuove epifanie romane, adoperando un cromatismo intenso carico di luce, guidandoci magicamente, attraverso orizzonti di elevazione con pitture oniriche e di impressioni ipnotiche solari e richiami a Kandinskij e Chagall. In Mostra, prosegue Francesco Ruggiero, anche l’Opera Quis ut Deus, esposta al San Michele, dove l’Artista ritrae un apollineo Arcangelo Michele che con ali dispiegate, ma con la sicurezza olimpica del vittorioso, tiene sotto il suo tallone il petto serpeggiante del Diavolo che si agita inquieto, come il caos che non vuole essere organizzato secondo il sistema scientifico/spirituale, dalla luce ordinatrice dei pensieri di cui Michele è l’intelligenza cosmica. La tecnica mista fa trasparire una prevalenza di oli e acrilici. L’Opera proietta l’alba della sintesi tra il vivace policromatismo della corrente simbolista russa e il monocromatismo trasformista del benessere estremo occidentale rappresentato così bene dal Wharol con le sue Marilyn camaleontiche capaci di assumere qualsiasi aspetto, persino quello di un Che Guevara, se ciò stupisse il mondo. Ben altra cosa è lo Stupor Coeli e Stupor Mundi, l’universalità del sapere umano. La Mostra si inaugura giovedì 16 settembre 2021 dalle ore 15.

Andrey Protasov nasce a San Pietroburgo in Russia il 4 Novembre 1957. Sin da bambino manifesta grande versatilità. Dalla scherma all’hockey, dagli scacchi al disegno. Ed è in quest’ultimo campo che si distingue con particolare entusiasmo. A soli undici anni vince il Concorso internazionale di Arte per Bambini a Berlino ricevendo il Premio Luis Corvalan e nello stesso anno viene ammesso alla Johanson School of Art con la quale legittima e consacra la sua vita all’Arte. Successivamente, nel 1979, entra all’Accademia delle Arti di Repin di San Pietroburgo e frequenta lo studio dei Maestri Vladimir Vetrogonsky e Aleksandr Gerasimov, dove sviluppa e approfondisce il proprio stile e il personale linguaggio artistico. Viaggia in Estremo Oriente e vive per un anno sull’isola di Sakhalin dove realizza un ciclo di Opere dedicate ai popoli dell’Estremo Oriente che gli conseguiranno il Diploma e il titolo di Artista. Dal suo matrimonio nasce, nel 1981, la sua unica e amata figlia Masha. A San Pietroburgo Andrey Protasov lavora come illustratore nella Casa Editrice Aurora, mentre non si ferma la sua complessa attività espositiva in Russia e all’Estero. Nel 1988 è membro dell’Unione degli Artisti Liberi della Galleria Nevsky 20 di San Pietroburgo. Negli anni ‘90 accoglie un invito dai Paesi Bassi per la partecipazione ad una Mostra. Nei Paesi Bassi approfondisce la conoscenza dell’Arte dei Maestri olandesi lavorando nella Galleria d’Arte russa ad Amsterdam, dove realizza numerosi ordini di tecnica monumentale e decorativa nel centro storico della Città. In seguito soggiorna in Germania, viaggiando spesso in Europa. Infine, accettando l’invito di partecipare in Italia al Concorso per Progetti di Pittura Monumentale e Decorativa, trasferitosi a Roma, si innamora della sua Cultura vascolare e decide di stabilirvisi definitivamente. A Roma approfondisce la Storia dell’Arte rinascimentale e realizza d’après dai grandi Maestri del Rinascimento. Da subito si include agli ambienti culturali romani, frequentando Artisti con cui stabilisce un legame di reciproca stima e amicizia, tra loro Ennio Calabria, Gianpaolo Berto, Nino La Barbera, Antonella Cappuccio, Salvatore Provino, Javier, Piero Dorazio. Ha esposto in Mostre personali e collettive nei Musei e Gallerie pubbliche e private nazionali e internazionali, tra cui ricordiamo Museo di Palazzo Barberini a Roma, Museo di Castel Sant’Angelo a Roma, Museo della Reggia di Caserta a Caserta, Museo di Palazzo Ducale di Cosenza, Galleria Comunale di Arte Contemporanea di Macerata, Istituto San Michele a Roma, Centro Culturale di Pisa, Galleria San Bernardo alle Terme a Roma, Galleria Il Leone in Kazakistan, Athena Arte di Roma. Andrey Protasov ci lascia improvvisamente a Roma nel 2019 all’età di 61 anni, da lì a poco avrebbe festeggiato quaranta anni di matrimonio.
