COMUNICATO STAMPA → Salvina Maesano interpreta Adalgisa, una delle figure centrali della Norma, Opera in due atti di Vincenzo Bellini su libretto di Felice Romani, in programma dalle 21 di venerdì 18 ottobre 2019 con la regia di Antonino Interisano, al Teatro Garibaldi di Modica, Fondazione presieduta da Inazio Abbate, Sindaco di Modica, con la Direzione Artistica di Giovanni Cultrera. Salvina Maesano, Cantante lirica Mezzosoprano, alla sua Sicilia dedica e ha dedicato riconoscimenti e Concorsi Lirici Internazionali che dal Mediterraneo gli vengono conferiti nell’ambito di scambi culturali tra Italia, Australia, Paesi Scandinavi e dal 2020 sarà presente nei Teatri degli Stati Uniti e in Cina, portando in dote al mondo una voce naturale, con un timbro di insolita bellezza e spettacolare linguaggio scenografico, specifico della Cultura della sua Regione. La Sicilia e il sontuoso Barocco del Regno.Un canto forte e deciso che si immerge nel tessuto dei cuori in pindarici decolli che dall’ugola della Maesano, con acuti avvitamenti planano liquidi e pulsanti d’intensità nelle fondamenta dell’Anima di chi ascolta. L’interiorità di corolle e di idee scintillano di litio nel magma magico dell’inconscio. È consapevole che l’Arte è Energia, che solo apparentemente si cristallizza nelle forme armoniche di una Musica, che in realtà agisce dinamicamente sulla Psiche fluida dello Spettatore, istaurando un rapporto dialogico. Le milizie disciplinate delle involuzioni canore nate dalla galleria del vento della sua voce, che si perpetua nelle criniere degli elmi invisibili, sono ispirate da possenti correnti magnetiche e scivolano nei vortici universi degli uditi di note di grandi sentimenti gonfi di leggiadre albe e di tempestosi tramonti nella luce delle note portate alla vita dalla sapiente voce. E tutto, come in Norma, prende forma plastica, viva di neoclassico dinamismo. È così che Salvina Maesano interpreta Adalgisa, una delle figure centrali della Norma, un’Opera in due atti di Vincenzo Bellini in programma al Teatro Garibaldi di Modica. Nominato inizialmente Real Teatro Ferdinandeo fu costruito tra il 1815 ed il 1820. Successivamente, nella metà dell’Ottocento, fu rimodernato sullo stile dei Teatri presenti in Sicilia e con l’Unità d’Italia venne dedicato a Garibaldi. Il Teatro Garibaldi è da sempre punto di riferimento dello sviluppo culturale di Modica. Grazie al Sovrintendente Tonino Cannata, con la Direzione artistica di Giovanni Cultrera, ha avviato un circuito di eccellenza che lo colloca tra i migliori Teatri della Sicilia. In Norma si svolge il dramma umano e sacrificale. Amore e gelosia fanno ritmare il cuore in un susseguirsi di lancinanti colpi di scena e forti rivelazioni, infine Norma sale sul rogo con l’uomo amato Pollione. L’Arte è taumaturgica, motore dell’evoluzione spirituale, natura e madre di ogni progresso sociale. E’ necessario intensificare, anche qui, soprattutto in Sicilia matrice culturale dei nuovi processi creativi, il tessuto e la rete del rapporto con gli Artisti come Salvina Maesano, con la ferma consapevolezza che la Cultura e la sua Storia sono necessari a riscoprire la propria memoria e a individuare il proprio avvenire. IL TEATRO GARIBALDI DI MODICA cenni storici

Nel cuore di Modica, lungo il Corso Garibaldi, ci appare il Teatro Garibaldi. Il Teatro fu progettato e realizzato intorno alla metà dell’Ottocento secondo moduli neoclassici molto sobri ed essenziali in facciata. Il Teatro venne inaugurato nel 1857 con La Traviata e, nei decenni successivi, si realizzarono le decorazioni della sala e del foyer. Il Teatro Garibaldi fu uno dei centri della vita culturale modicana, e non solo, fino agli anni ’40 del Novecento quando la gestione passò in mano a privati subendo pesanti trasformazioni. Da questo momento in poi si assiste a un lento degrado fino alla chiusura avvenuta nel 1984, al temine di una parabola discendente che lo aveva trasformato da tempio della prosa e della lirica  a cinematografo di quart’ordine. Dopo un restauro durato sei anni e per volontà della precedente Amministrazione Comunale il Teatro riaprì i battenti il 13 giugno 2000, in controtendenza rispetto a quello che, purtroppo, sempre più spesso avviene. La volontà di riappropriarsi di uno strumento indispensabile per lo sviluppo culturale di una comunità. Non solo, con una grande apertura culturale, l’Amministrazione di allora diventa committente di una importante opera d’arte che diventerà parte integrante del teatro. Un olio su tela in forma di tondo del diametro di oltre quattro metri da sistemare nella volta della sala. L’incarico viene affidato a Piero Guccione, uno dei più importanti artisti del panorama italiano ed europeo, a Franco Sarnari, Giuseppe Colombo e Piero Roccasalva, sui bozzetti realizzati dallo stesso Piero Guccione. Per quanto riguarda la decorazione interna, sulla base di una traccia che era rimasta, Giorgio Modica sviluppò le fasce delle balaustre mentre dipinse ex novo la volta con i ritratti di Verdi, Bellini, Behethoven, Mozart e il foyer proponendo motivi decorativi di fine Ottocento. In tale contesto si inserì il tondo affidato a Guccione che richiederà la collaborazione di Franco Sarnari, Piero Roccasalva e Giuseppe Colombo. L’Opera verrà realizzata tra l’agosto e il settembre del 1999. Guccione prima di scegliere la soluzione definitiva elabora dieci bozzetti. L’immagine che verrà scelta è quella dei bozzetti che vedono protagonista la facciata della Chiesa di San Giorgio illuminata di gialli e ocra in cima alla scalinata in ombra. Il punto di vista è sotto insù, un espediente che proietta la facciata in piena luce, stagliandola sul cielo azzurro tra i Palazzi Polara e Tommasi-Rosso, mentre la scalinata ha uno spazio che viene amplificato da una leggera convessità e accoglie vari personaggi che esistevano anche nei bozzetti preparatori. La stesura definitiva vede, in primo piano, il Don Giovanni di Mozart, con un gesto da baritono, che ha come punto di riferimento iconografico la scultura dedicata al benefattore della città di Scicli, Pietro di Lorenzo Busacca, del Civiletti posta nella Piazza omonima di Scicli e con il volto del più giovane degli artisti coinvolti nella grande opera: il modicano Giuseppe Colombo. Sempre in primo piano, accovacciato, Machbeth, in omaggio a Verdi, dipinto in un atteggiamento pensoso affiancato da un teschio: una posa ripresa dall’Eraclito raffigurato nella Scuola di Atene di Raffaello. In secondo piano Norma, in azzurro; il Messia, un omaggio a Hendel; un personaggio vestito di giallo che sale le scale (il colore che allude alla solarità della città di Modica) e la cui iconografia è recuperata da un altro personaggio della Scuola di Atene e che si trova alla destra di Diogene. Sulla sinistra il gruppo di Rinaldo e Armida stretti in un abbraccio sensuale, un omaggio a Gluck e con un recupero iconografico da GiovanBattista Tiepolo (il maestro degli grandi spazi infiniti e scenografici). In terzo piano un d’apres del Bacio di Francesco Hayez che allude al Tristano e Isotta di Wagner vicino al Mosè, omaggio a Rossini ma che non ha riscontri iconografici espliciti. Poco più in alto si individuano un gruppo di personaggi tratti dalla Decollazione del Battista, capolavoro assoluto del Caravaggio. Chiudono la scena due figuranti e i Giovani Ignudi, d’apres da uno dei più famosi tondi in assoluto: il Tondo Doni di Michelangelo. Lungo la scalinata una colomba, dei fiori rossi di ibiscus, tra gatti e una lucertola. L’Opera, facendo perno sull’evocazione di uno spazio scenico, diventa una summa di esperienze visive, letterarie e musicali della Cultura Europea.
