COMUNICATO STAMPA → Ugo Spagnuolo è presente al Macro Asilo di Roma dal 3 al 5 dicembre con Da dove veniamo…! Il quesito esistenziale il cui tema conduttore è all’origine della ricerca pittorica e antropologica di Paul Gauguin (Da dove veniamo? chi siamo? dove andiamo?,1897), è oggi, nell’opera di Ugo Spagnuolo il vuoto di memoria. Con i codici e i linguaggi della contemporaneità, esso è la storia, la biografia che si vorrebbe individuare attraverso un viaggio nell’alterità, in un transito talvolta violento che conduce ad una opera-azione e riflessione sulle problematiche escatologiche nell’eterno fluire della vita e della morte. Il pubblico interattore-turatore è parte integrante dell’opera in cui potrà agire direttamente sugli accadimenti. Il vuoto di memoria attraverso il rito della sigillatura delle bottiglie, fortemente simbolico, è il luogo in cui si paralizzano icone e reminiscenze. Il vuoto di memoria diventa, per Spagnulo, uno spazio da colmare, attraverso le testimonianze, i ricordi di passanti e di viaggiatori che ogni giorno compiono un percorso personale nella geografia complessa della contemporaneità. Con uno scritto di Fabio Petrelli (storico dell’arte Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata) Da dove veniamo… è una video installazione interattiva e un’opera-azione di Arte partecipata realizzata per la prima volta nel 2016 all’Art Forum Wuerth di Capena, ripresentata poi in altri luoghi e reinventata di volta in volta per il sito specifico che l’ha ospitata. Coerentemente con la tematica esistenziale che la titola, è stata adattata tecnicamente e stilisticamente in funzione di una ricerca più efficace di interazione e partecipazione.

 

 

UGO SPAGNUOLO cenni biografici

Ugo Spagnuolo è nato nel 1964 a Roma dove ha frequentato sia il Liceo Artistico che l’Accademia di Belle Arti nella sezione pittura, ha prodotto molteplici opere-azioni con il gruppo che ha fondato ‘Radice di tre’, operativo dal 1996 al 2016. Attualmente è Insegnante di Discipline Pittoriche presso il Liceo Artistico A. Frammartino di Monterotondo. Tra le varie operazioni e interventi da lui realizzati nel corso degli anni si ricordano: All’Art Forum Wuerth di Capena l’Opera-azione-laboratorio ‘Vuoti di memoria: da dove veniamo…’, a Fiano Romano il murale relazionale ‘Vuoti di Memoria’, alla Galleria Spazio 40 ‘Democrazia portatile seggio n° 1,7320…’ e l’installazione ‘Vuoti di memoria’ per 20eventi arte contemporanea in sabina con Radice di tre. Dal 1996 ad oggi ha esposto in numerose mostre in tutto il Lazio e in varie città italiane, tra gli autori che hanno scritto di lui segnaliamo D.Bellezza, Berenice, P.Berto, R.Bertoni, M.Boscaino, A.Cochetti, C.Crescentini, A.Grandolfo, D.Iosimi, F.Petrelli, V.Viriglio, L.Trucchi. Ha risposto alle nostre tre domande in occasione dell’inaugurazione del progetto ‘Vuoti di Memoria’, la prima iniziativa di Arte Urbana creata con l’ausilio dei cittadini e degli abitanti del posto. La finalità dell’operazione, che ha visto l’allestimento di un murale di oltre 400 mq, era quella di riqualificare uno spazio comune inteso come non luogo, semplice passaggio, grazie a un’opera pubblica e relazionale. Venticinque personaggi significativi del quartiere, sono stati immortalati in dimensioni monumentali nella quotidianità di un gesto altamente simbolico: la chiusura di alcune bottiglie che nell’opera diventano conservedocumenti da riempire attraverso la propria storia. Il dipinto è inoltre concepito per essere completato, nel tempo, da chi sul Quadraro insiste e vi è legato, persone che l’artista ha incontrato da febbraio 2018 effettuando laboratori in collaborazione con il Liceo Artistico G.C. Argan di Roma ed il Liceo Artistico A. Frammartino di Monterotondo e nelle sedi più varie. Centinaia di sagome di bottiglie sono colmate quindi dai loro ricordi, trasformando così una stazione della metropolitana in un palcoscenico rivelatore di memoria, privata o collettiva, storica o intima, ove recuperare immagini, reminiscenze, identità. Il murale è finanziato grazie alla liberalità di privati e aziende che si sono attivati nel tempo.
